PAES Leadership Award
Though this is a bit tentative, if you are a graduate student in PAES, you are eligible to nominate students for the PAES Leadership Award. Below is the description of the award. If you want to use the form below, I would recommend copying it and pasting it into a Word document.
School of PAES GAA Advisory Leadership Award
Purpose:
To provide recognition to graduate students within the School of PAES for outstanding leadership contributions which enhance the mission of the school.
Eligibility for the Award:
Any graduate student in the School of PAES with a 3.0 GPA or higher may apply. Previous award winners are not eligible to apply. Any staff, student, or faculty member within the School of PAES may nominate a graduate student(s). Self-nominations may also be submitted.
Selection Committee:
A selection committee comprised of members of the Graduate Assistant Advisory Council will review the nominations to select the recipients based on the established criteria.
Selection Criteria:
The award recipient must be a graduate student in PAES and will be selected on merits and strengths regarding the following criteria:
1. Outstanding leadership tasks/activities/actions that facilitate the success of the School of PAES faculty, students or supervisors.
2. Leadership action(s) demonstrating a strong commitment to the School of PAES mission.
3. Leadership action(s) demonstrating consistent, positive, cooperative interactions with the School of PAES including with faculty, students, and other staff members.
4. Leadership action(s) enhancing/elevating the status of the School of PAES, the college, university, community, and/or your specific professional discipline.
Nomination Form:
The nomination form is available on the School web page (http://ehe.osu.edu/paes/). The completed nomination form must be typed. A narrative, citing specific accomplishments and services must accompany the nomination form. The narrative should be a maximum of two double spaced typed pages. Two hard copies of the nomination form and narrative must be turned into (insert location here).
Frequency of Award:
From each of the eight graduate specializations in the School, one M.A. student and one Ph.D. student will be recognized. From these winners, an overall award of leadership excellence will also be awarded. The request for nominations will be made available early Spring Quarter and will be due by May 15th.
Selection Announcement:
Each recipient will be honored at an awards ceremony on Wednesday, June 4, 2008. The award winners will also be announced in school and college newsletters.
